Compressed Air Flow Monitoring
March 22, 2012
Compressed Air is an expensive commodity these days. Do you know where all of yours is going? Do you have compressors running all the time to keep up with demand? Is the compressed air produced being used effectively or wasted through leakage?
We can help!
Techniquip is pleased to highlight our expertise in monitoring compressed air and introduce a comprehensive range of measuring instruments.
We have a number instruments available ranging from small Variable Area Flow meters that measure from just a few cc’s per minute through to insertion mass flowmeter for measurements in pipes and ducts up to 0.5 metres in diameter and beyond.
Variable Area Flowmeters (Rotameter Type) are available in numerous sizes and are an economical solution to the simple task of monitoring flow rate.

Mass Flowmeters are ideal for Compressed Air monitoring as they provide accurate measurements over a wide flow range often up to 100 : 1 turndown and unaffected by pressure variations.
We have a selection of Mass Flowmeters that are ideal for Compressed Air monitoring. The first and lowest cost unit the Model MCF. This little flowmeter is small on price and big on performance and is available from 1/4″ up to 2″ sizes. The body is manufactured from aluminium keeping weight and cost down. Required electrical supply is the industry standard 24 vdc with an output of 4 – 20mA. The display (standard fitment) is bright red LED and indicates both flow rate and flow total. A pulse output that can be configured for remote flow totalisation or event/alarm is also provided. We also have the MGF series of mass flowmeters. The MGF-420 model is available from 1/4″ to 2″ sizes. The body on the meter is manufactured from stainless steel and features “metering tubes” and an integral display of rate and total as standard. MGF-400 model is an insertion type device suitable for pipes larger than 2″ in diameter. Supply is again 24 vdc with analogue (4-20mA) and pulse outputs.
