Maintaining the correct Pressure Dew Point (PDP) is critical for the reliability, efficiency, and safety of compressed air systems. It serves as a direct indicator of moisture content; the lower the dew point, the drier the air.
Why Dew Point Matters
  • Prevents Equipment Damage: Excess moisture causes internal corrosion in piping and tanks, which leads to rust particles that can clog valves and nozzles. It also washes away essential lubricants in pneumatic tools, causing premature wear and failure.
  • Ensures Product Quality: In industries like food, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, moisture can lead to product contamination, bacterial growth, or manufacturing defects (e.g., bubbles in paint, brittle plastics, or ruined semiconductor yields).
  • Operational Efficiency: Continuous measuremet allows for “dew point dependent switching” (DDS) in desiccant dryers, which can save up to 80% in energy costs by only regenerating desiccant when truly necessary.
